This month, we’re sadly saying goodbye to Hannah Huisman, our Program Coordinator. Hannah has been working with us since 2020 and has played an essential role in Global Ties Iowa’s everyday operations. As Program Coordinator, she reached out to national programming agencies to discuss hosting delegations in Eastern Iowa and organized meetings between local resources and delegations. This March, she attended the Global Ties National Meeting, an annual meeting in Washington D.C., intended to help organizations around the country network and strengthen professional skills.
“Working for [Global Ties Iowa] for the past few years has been such a privilege, and I have gained so much experience and such great memories,” said Hannah. “Additionally, it was really great to have attended the Global Ties National Meeting in March, as that experience gave me a great network of people and a ton of information that will be beneficial in pursuing my next steps professionally.”
Hannah graduated from the University of Iowa in the spring of 2021, majoring in International Studies and Japanese Studies with a minor in Korean Studies. She is originally from Dyersville, Iowa and is moving to Des Moines this summer.
“For now, I plan on doing more work with the international communities in Des Moines, but my future may take me all over the world!” said Hannah.
We are extremely proud to have had Hannah on our team. Thank you for all you’ve done for Global Ties Iowa, and good luck in all of your future endeavors, Hannah!
