This month, we said goodbye to Dylan Morgan, our Communications Intern. Dylan began working with us in the spring of 2021 and was responsible for managing, writing, and designing the posts for Global Ties Iowa’s social media accounts.

Dylan’s initial interest in working for Global Ties stemmed from his interest in working overseas.

“I was very surprised that so many people from other countries regularly visited Iowa City and that I could have the opportunity to interact with them and help the organization. It was right up my alley for what I want to explore,” said Dylan. “I really liked working with the other staff members, hearing and learning about the different programs we were doing and what other global ties branches and other organizations were doing.”

Dylan is entering his fourth year at the University of Iowa, majoring in Political Science and International Relations with a minor in Ceramics. He is originally from Des Moines, Iowa and works as an Assistant Debate Coach at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines.

“Next, I’m going to teach at a debate camp over the summer, continue coaching in the fall and study abroad in the spring!”

We are extremely grateful for all of the contributions Dylan made to Global Ties Iowa. Thank you for all that you’ve done, and good luck in all of your future endeavors, Dylan!

Dylan joins Interim Executive Director Amy Alice Chastain in dropping off a check to the Catherine McAuley Center. This money was raised during our Afghan Resettlement Fundraiser in February, 2022.
