Please join us in welcoming Jaclin Thompson, our Spring 2023 Social Media and Storytelling Intern!
Jaclin is a senior at the University of Iowa majoring in Marketing and minoring in Spanish. She is a University of Iowa cheerleader and member of Phi Alpha Delta, a pre-law fraternity. Originally from Brownsburg, Indiana, Jaclin hopes to attend law school and become an immigration attorney after graduation.
Jaclin has been studying Spanish for seven years, and it was her experience studying Spanish in high school that catalyzed her interest in cultural exchange and immigration law.
“I had a really great Spanish teacher who introduced me to the world of immigration [issues] and what different people from different places kind of went through,” said Jaclin. “So, once I saw this [internship that would give me the] opportunity to connect
with different people from different cultures and all around the world, I really thought it'd be a great fit for me.”
Jaclin's favorite travel experience was visiting Cancun, Mexico. There, she was able to go off the beaten path and see the lives of locals. In the future, she hopes to go to Spain to experience using a version of Spanish that she’s learned in textbooks.
Jaclin has already brought so much fun energy to our team, and we can’t wait to see the great things she will do in this role!
